NEW TO US?
Welcome to Ashtanga Yoga Charlottesville.
We'd love to hear from you.
Learn a bit about our teachers
Come join us for three days of fun playing with the art of Thai Bodywork. This ancient art form heals the body, opens and releases held tension and brings balance to the body, mind and spirit. This weekend will offer a 60 minute sequence with many original moves including restorative yoga postures. A practical knowledge of the eastern medical systems view of body constitution (Ayurvedic doshas) and how to treat clients accordingly will be an overall focus for the weekend.
New Moon in Leo
Our new moon in Leo carries us into our Ancestral connections ~ what is your ancestral inheritance, what are your family loyalty and values? Is there pressure to identify strongly with the family clan? How do we honor our ancestral lineage while still pursuing our personal path?
The Star Praesepe, known as the Spirit of Ancestors by the Ancients, will support our exploration of ancestral / family lineage & inheritance, assisting us to gather what is of value and releasing any unhealthy or undesirable behaviors.
With reverence towards our Ancestors, we will connect with their Spirits as guides and the ancestral wisdom & confidence they offer to us.
The 2019-2020 200 hr In-Depth Study/Yoga Teacher Training Program at The Ivy Yoga School.
The program will be under the guidance of Jennifer Elliott and Carroll Ann Friedmann.
The Ivy Yoga School (IYS) Program is in the Krishnamacharya Lineage: We draw on the traditions of Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Therapeutic Yoga.
Please join us for a 14-hour restorative yoga training designed for yoga teachers and students, stress-management professionals, nurses, body-centered therapists, health and wellness practitioners, and all caregivers. Based on hatha yoga postures, the body is completely supported with props for deep rest and relaxation.
