“I will let my body flow like water over the gentle cushions “ - Sappho
Please join us for a 14-hour restorative yoga training designed for yoga teachers and students, stress-management professionals, nurses, body-centered therapists, health and wellness practitioners, and all caregivers. Based on hatha yoga postures, the body is completely supported with props for deep rest and relaxation.
Learn to teach this practice of active relaxation with Marla Cantor of Yoga Sparks.
During the program you will learn the art and skill of
teaching restorative yoga, including a set of postures complemented by gentle stretching, breathing, and meditation.
Through direct experience, practice teaching, and feedback, you will leave the training with the ability to confidently teach a primary series of restorative poses to your students and incorporate them into your own practice.
Saturday 9-5:00pm and Sunday 9-4:00pm
Marla Cantor has been practicing yoga since 1993 and teaching since 2001. She took her first restorative class in 2000 and fell in love with this restful and healing practice. In 2007, she trained with Judith Lasater, author of Relax and Renew, and assisted Judith in her Charlottesville workshops. Marla has led restorative yoga workshops for the Universityof Virginia’s visiting international students and for the teacher’s conference at Satchidananda Ashram in Yogaville and has led teacher trainings for the Ivy Yoga School under Jennifer Elliott, as well as for ACAC. Marla continues to offer classes and workshops locally in Charlottesville. Her classes are comfortable and casual, infused with a playful sense of humor.
This training is open to all. Yoga teachers registered with Yoga Alliance receive 14 CEUs.
